La Americana anotó la primera carrera del partido cuando Evan Longoria recibió un boleto de Hong-Chi Kuo, abriendo la parte baja del quinto episodio; Joe Mauer le siguió con un rodado al pitcher, y éste tiró abierto a primera, provocando que Longoria pasara a tercera.
